SoP Topic Discussion Club
The SoP Topic Discussion Club (TDC) provides students with the opportunity to participate in topic discussions, which are a key component of pharmacy student rotations. TDC allows students to gain experience in a learner-friendly environment that strengthens clinical knowledge and prepares students for APPE rotations.

Structure
TDC will meet about every 3 weeks in the Spring 2023 semester. No more than 4 students may sign up to lead per meeting. There is no maximum number of observers who may listen in.

Roles
  • Student Discussion Leads: Professional PharmD program students who sign up to lead discussion
  • Preceptors: Topic experts in the field 
  • Observers: Any individual who is interested in learning about the topic, topic discussions, and TDC
Before Meeting
  • Student Discussion Leads: Prepare prior to the meeting by looking up topic information and completing the Google Doc template provided
  • Groups of student presenters are to divide the document sections evenly amongst themselves
  • Observers: Pre-work is optional

During Meeting

  • Student Discussion Leads: Present their findings in the completed Google Doc template
  • Preceptors: Chime in with clinical pearls and questions, may provide feedback on performance
  • Observers: May ask questions after topic discussion if time permits
