Internet Access Permission Form 2020-2021
Independent student use of District computer networks (including the Internet) will be permitted upon submission of permission forms by parents of minor students (under 18 years of age).  This Sanborn Regional School District Policy is listed under JICL-E in the policy manual.

Student Expectations in Use of the Internet
Students are expected to follow general school rules for behavior when using District computer networks. Access is a privilege, not a right. Network storage areas may be treated like school lockers. Network administrators may review files and communications to maintain system integrity and insure that users are using the system responsibly. Users should not expect that files stored on district servers will always be private.

Guidelines for Student Expectations in Use of District Computer Networks and the Internet are detailed in School District policy JICL and reprinted in the student handbook. At a minimum, the following are not permitted:
- Revealing personal information (address, phone number, etc.)
- Using fake names or pseudonyms
- Sending or displaying offensive messages or pictures
- Using obscene language, accessing pornographic material, etc.
- Harassing, insulting or attacking others
- Damaging computers, computer systems or networks
- Violating copyright laws, plagiarism
- Using other' passwords
- Trespassing in others' folders, work or files
- Intentionally wasting limited resources
- Employing network for commercial purposes

Parent/Guardian Permission for World Wide Web Publishing of Student Work *
We understand that our child's artwork, writing, or other project, is under consideration for publication on the World Wide Web, a part of the Internet and Newspaper (which may also be on the Internet). We further understand that the work will appear with a copyright notice prohibiting the copying of such work without express written permission. No home address or telephone number will appear with such work.  We grant permission for the World Wide Web publishing as described above indefinitely or until removal is requested by us.

We further understand that names, if used, will use this format: first name, last initial (i.e., Joe S.). No personal information will be published. Specifically excluded will be such information as Home Address, Phone Number and Email Address. We grant permission for the World Wide Web publishing as described above indefinitely or until removal is requested by us.
